spiral cubes I

This artwork is made up of over 480 individual wooden cubes of domestic larch, carefully aligned and glued in a spiraling formation. The twisting geometry gives the illusion of movement, almost like the sculpture is breathing or rotating.
The symbolism of the spiral—meditation, internalization, and the unity of nature and spirit—is reflected in the way the blocks transform a rigid, geometric material into an organic, flowing form. The surface treatment with hard wax oil enhances the natural grain and warmth of the larch, making the piece both tactile and visually engaging.
