mountain flow I
With mountain flow I, Manfred Hellweger has created a wall object that translates the diversity and mutability of nature into an abstract formal language. Made from over eleven types of wood with grains and colour values ranging from warm to cool and light to dark, it creates a lively structure with unmistakable dynamism. During the gluing process, mouldings and veneers of varying thicknesses were arranged so that they tapered irregularly towards the bottom, creating a pulsating movement. The clearly defined mountain silhouette reinforces this interplay of calm and flow, solidity and lightness.
At the heart of the work is the idea of constant change: nothing stays the same — everything changes, everything is in motion. Just as the water of a stream never stands still, humans and nature are also subject to a ceaseless process of transformation. Mountain Flow I renders this concept visible and tangible while simultaneously providing space for viewers to reflect and resonate.
The completely natural surface emphasises the authenticity of the material. The piece is presented as a wall object and comes with screws and dowels for easy installation.
